Also known as Chimay Bleue, Chimay Azul is a authentic trappist beer Strong Dark Ale style, which has a rich yeast aroma with floral notes and a bitter taste. In its elaboration, water obtained from the abbey wells and a strain of its own washing are used. The aromatic and bitter touch of this beer is provided by the extra hops. It was first made in 1948, as a seasonal beer to celebrate Christmas. It was so successful that the Chimay monks decided to add it to their catalog permanently.
