Absinthe is one of the most notorious and controversial spirits in all of history. Used for the first time in ancient Greece for curative purposes, the first proper recipe dates from 1792, with the Swiss doctor Pierre Ordinaire being one of the promoters of its virtues. Later it was the French who made it known worldwide.
It is a high alcohol drink obtained from the distillation of various Mediterranean plants, mainly absinthe (absinthe), anise and fennel. It is a very aromatic, dry drink that can be taken alone with water as an aperitif, and is also very suitable for mixing.
