In this selection we propose 3 wines where Carignan is the only character in the bottle. Monovarietals. They will be able to discover the secrets that this variety hides. Cariñena is disguised in many wines throughout the geography of the Iberian Peninsula, from a minority part of the DOC Rioja wines, where it is known as Mazuelo, to the great wines del Priorat, where he gains prominence, like Samsó. Surviving centenary vineyards, on slate soils, provide us with the most unique and spectacular wines. Aragon and neighboring Montsant del Priorat also give us great examples of wines with Cariñena.

This variety, previously also widespread throughout France, until the 60-70s, is currently limited to the Llenguadoc-Roselló area.

Bright wines, with aromas of blueberries, regalia and minerality. Tannins are the kind that get hooked; more or less depending on how the processor works them. Very good acidity, which gives the wine a freshness; being an ideal variety to mix with varieties that have less acidity.

A variety with a great future, as it shows good adaptation to climate change, and resistant to pests.
